Sept. 1914 Monday, 5 p.m. Dearest Mummie: Wanted to write you earlier in the day but was too tired to do anything but lie still when I had got the washing done and the floor scrubbed. I think after this I shall have the men do the floor Sunday morning or else I will do it myself some other day besides washday. Too smuch is enough. So sorry you didn't get to see the Falls. Hope you can see them sometime. Wish I were there at Dart's with you. It must be lovely if it is anything like Highlands. I am mailing you the history of Europe in Sunday's Tribune.
