-burger hamburger, continuation of previous page business? I told Max about Thomas's proposition and he thinks that you could make good at it. He says I can go or not, just as I please but he says just as Verne did, that the people are not all that could be desired. Have you spoken to Miss Merrifield about going with you? N.Z. says to tell you and Dr. Zeh that she wants you both to come over Friday evening and she will meet you Saturday morning at the docks. She says she will be expecting you both. Max and I will leave here next Sunday evening, arriving in Chicago Monday morning. We both are enjoying ourselves very much. N.Z. has a fine cow who gives a copious supply of milk and cream. None of it is sold so what we don't eat goes to the chickens. It seems very luxurious to have a large pitcher of real cream on the table at every meal. Max is almost through with the chicken house and is helping Ralph build a fence around one of the smaller brooder houses. Got a card from Margaret yesterday and a nice letter from Grandma enclosing a dollar. Lots of love, Katharine.
