April 7, 1914. Ducky Marmer + Grandma: Nellie Zay is writing you a letter, Mum, so I will put one in with hers. Am enclosing the prints which I got last Saturday. Went down on that day with Nellie to pick out a hat for her but she decided to wait until her plume was cleaned before buying one. However, we looked at various shapes and styles, and sort of decided on one. Got two new nightgowns for myself, $1.00 apiece. Don't forget to let me know the fare from Avon Park up here, so I can send you the money. Perhaps you could come before May 1st. The sooner, the better, of course. I am getting to be a very large lady. In fact, when I was down town Saturday, the traffic was nearly blocked on several occasions when people halted and turned around to get a better view of my dimensions.
