He was working at something or other in the new place, slipped, and threw out his hands to save himself. His palms came in contact with a couple of nails (one for each palm) so he now resembles Christ so far as his hands are conceived. The wounds are very painful but he has taken plenty of precaution against blood poisoning, using peroxide, etc. so I guess they will heal up all right. A day or two before this experience he nearly cut off the end of his thumb on his razor. The cut was pretty deep and bled a great deal. Doc said he cut several of the small veins, so you see is pretty well bunged up. I got a letter from Ethel saying that the girls were going to give me my shower this week Saturday evening at Elsie's house. She called me up this morning saying that. Elsie was unable to entertain this
