Jan. 21, 1914. Dearest Mummie: I sprained my left wrist last Monday afternoon on my way home from the grocery store, so I can't use the typewriter. The walks are very icy which accounts for my fall. I wasn't hurt otherwise, but this is enough. I bathed it in hot water quite a bit and it is on the mend, but there is still room for improvement. Seems to me your nickel or rather dime show is awful stingy with its pictures if it only gives two reels. Out here we get a big picture like the Million D.M., and 4 or 5 other pictures, about 7 reels in all, for a dime. Why don't you start up a rival show? I suppose it would take quite a bit of capital to begin it, though. Mr. Cole finished paying for the December rent yesterday. It took him quite a while, didn't it?
