2 Well-of course I dont know. Is it a criticism that a book ceases to be a novel? The fairy stories it seemed to me were a vital part of Old Ves Walmsleys character. However others have made the same comment. I ad a nice note on it from Robert Littell.
I see Marco occasionally. He has plucked up quite a bit and is his old self. We remember you -- and take another drink His Hell Book like my stuff, apparently is waiting for someone to realize what a work of art is is -- and grab it off.
Laelah is still living with Jack Jones-running his print shop. Occasionally she intimates that married life is not what it was cracked up to be. Jack's got her working. Jack says you've forgotten him.
Don Wright was in for a few minutes this last week. He's with Ayer agency in Philadelphia. Still as enthusiastic as ever about writing. Seems to be making a real effort on his novel "Steam Whistle."
I am writing you care Boni & Liveright because I do not know where else to address you. Have you gone to the West Va farm? When are you likely to be out this way again. Ive become such a hermit crab -- stealing every hour I can for the novel -- that I dont see anybody. who can give me a real kick in the pants.
Affectionately George
