Dear Sherwood:

                          It was good to get your

letter. That sounds like an interesting place you are in. I can understand what you felt driving there thru the country. I got an awful kick out of just the look of things driving in a car. I have often thought it would be good to take a lot of water color papers and start off on a summers jaunt in a car. When you saw some- thing that thrilled you stop and put down as much as you could in a couple of hours. Chances are working fast that way you would get the essentials.

         Places like that you describe

have always had a fascination for me. I suppose because I was always in such respectable surroundings. Also people of that way of life
