Dear Sherwood: It made me feel good and warm getting your letter. I paint picture after picture and always there is something lacking at the end. I know what I wanted to say and walking back thru the fields I think about why I didn't get it. Looking at the trees I try to figure out why I didn't get the life and gesture of the ones I was working on. Usually by the time I get home I have a new way of approach worked out and am ready to try again. Saturday on the ay back I looked at a tree. Its top was curved in the wind like this.
