the table and room now. The spread is all up in a heap on the table, on one corner is your humble servant scribbling and beside there is the lamp, two bottles, two ink wells a pair of gloves my pocket book, tatting box, brush, comb, three letters, books pin cushion etc. etc. I dont mean these things are all scribbling as you might suppose by the way it reads but they are on the table. Mr. Ford has been writing in my extract book, and that reminds me that you have never written in it I'm so sorry. This has been such a lovely day. Mr. & Mrs Sumner were here to dinner. Mr. S. was a funny as ever I have written down just what came into my head first. I'll certainly do better next time, but I presume you will not be able to read it so you'll never know its silly.
