Dear Jack: Thanks for the prompt report on events in Chicago - but I do want to get one thing straight. It's just not correct that "no book stores had copies." When Curt called I personally checked with ? (they had 100 copies) - Raymar - a jobber - had 250 copies & could make "same day" delivery to any store that needed them. Also ? & Taylor another jobber had copies & Hank Fajie sent the enclosed memo to 30 or 40 area bookstores. The day Curt called he was trying to get stores to put their books "up front". It's true Brent didn't get his order - Reason - he hadn't paid his bill to White in eight months. I told most of this to Curt when I called him back - so he underlined: knew there were books
