September 24, 1973 Mr. Irving Kupcinet Chicago Sun-Times 401 North Wabash Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60611

Dear Mr. Kupcinet:

Separately I have sent you page proofs of WRITERS IN REVOLT, edited by Jack Conroy, which will be published on November 19th. I am sure you do not need to be reminded that Jack is a father figure to many (one might say most) mid-west writers of the past 30 years. The work of many of them appeared first in underlined: The Anvil and now is included in this new book.
Jack, who now lives in Moberly, Missouri and is working on his memoirs, will emerge from semi-retirement to help launch his book. With this in mind, I hope you can find a spot for him on your program.

Sincerely, Lawrence Hill
