    Glad to hear from you and get word of the new book.  Love to aquire [sic] a new one.  You surely know that Meine was down and said he'd be back this fall but I have not had an answer from him to my last letter.   I had told him to let me know when you got back from Europe and to say hello.  Is he not well?  Had a nice note from Blair last month.  I had sent him an article on Twain I had written for the Mo Historical Society.
    Hope you do retire here but you'll find it pretty tame after your travels and Chicago.  Good place to write a book.   I'll be glad to help.  Always wanted to do something like "Stud's
