Jan. 24, 1977 Dear Mr. Conroy:

        I am sorry it took me such a long time to transcribe the tapes & send them to you.   Teaching two courses as well as family responsibilities take up so much of my time.  I have been reading about the thinking and planning a few items in my dissertation.  Also, I am trying to read Marx, and believe me it also gives underlined: me a headache to do so.
       I transcribed the tapes as faithfully as as [sic] could.  I am sending the transcription to see if you care to make any alterations or suggestions.  I realize that I must have made a good number of mistakes here & there regarding names and expressions.  Please inform me of any error you find.   I am still keeping the novel, underlined:  Yonnondio which you've lent me to read.  I will mail it back as soon as I get a chance to read it.
