Dear Frank,

      Thank you for your letter.  I am sorry to have been rather long in replying but was not quite certain when I should be going on holiday.  However that has now been fixed for July 24th-Aug 1st.  My step-daughter and family come here for the second week in Aug.  If your friends could arrange their visit to Maidstone and district any time after the 15th Aug. we should be pleased to give them a welcome.  Dick hopes to be available to take them around the Chatham area.  Please, no further present from you.  I had that last year.
     I was glad to hear you and Mabel are both fairly well, and hope she is feeling more able to cope with things in general.  My family and I have kept very well.  The grand-children seem to be growing up very fast.
