time Farrar himself would come to town to meet me. I waited. In January I grew impatient. Brent said Farrar would come Feb 15. That date came and went. I asked if I should contact Farrar. Brent said no, he would handle it. Finally since Brent seemed so evasive I wrote a letter to Farrar Straus asking for the reasons for rejection and what their readers had said.
