Dear Jack,

     This is to thank you for recommending me to Holt.  I guess I am proud and like to pretend that I don't need anything.  It's one of my failings.  I'm not good at asking for things for myself.
     It will be fun anyway to see Mr. Schoon.  I'm pretty nearly through with the book.
