The meaning of these words seems to this - viz - When we pray - if we love any object more than God

crossed out words - our prayer of course is hypocritical, & the Lord will not answer it - - Or in other words - if we cleave to anything which we will not resign for the glory of God, & the good of his cause, he will not hear our prayers - Says the Psmist [psalmist] in the context I will go into thy house O God
