Dear Jack,

Here is the money for the things sold to Holtzman. Remember you were not supposed to have furnished the Traven material if he contacts you.
I have travelled extensively in the South and the Caribbean since I saw you. Spent some time with Arna who has not aged a bit, at his place in Nashville. Spoke at Memphis, Arlington (Texas) and Bishop College in Dallas. Interviewed people in Martinique and other places. All very exciting. I have not forgotten that I'll soon pay you another visit. This will probably be at the end of the month, if it is OK with you. I plan to come on Tuesday, work with you at sorting your papers, and leave on Friday to speak for that rather silly ladies' club in Kansas City. I may bring the children along if Genevieve has to go to Chicago that week. For the Fall issue of underlined: New Letters which will be centered on you, I plan to contribute the history of underlined: Rebel Poets and underlined: The Anvil I had prepared for my secondary thesis and haven't used yet. handwritten at bottom of card But I'll tell you more soon. I go to handritten in left margin Boston - NY on Tuesday → Sat. then to Syracuse & Yale the week after, I think. handwritten in top margin: Best to you & Gladys Michel
