Dear Jack Conroy:

I was reading Edward Dahlberg's CONFESSIONS about you, when the K.C. STAR piece arrived. How this brings back memories of the 30's, especially since I am recovering from a CORONARY (MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION) and am not yet 60! my wife sez from all that riotous living of the 30's & 40's.!
Sorry my writing is also uncoordinated but recovery seems slow.
Anyway, I'm pleased that you are getting some attention from the near-home folks.
I haven't written much since I became a librarian, but perhaps if I live a few years so I can retire I may try again, after all, I did win the midwest Poetry Conpetions [sic] once!

Sincerely Don v.R. Drenner
