letterhead DIRECTOR RALPH MONROE SECRETARY ROSE JOHNSON BUSINESS MANAGER RAY DIXON [Dixon is circled with line to "is Love]]
the [[handwritten "Dixon is Love!] Workers Theatre of Kansas City Missouri 2203 Troost Ave.
Nov. 8, 1934 Dear Jack: -
I am taking a few seconds off on my hectic "Dixon Is Love," campaign to report the terror which is in full swing in K.C. Monday morning Comrade Rudy (she of the rising beauties, with deep interest in Homos) was summoned to the Main office of the J.C.E.RC. and there told she must cease her activities in the radical movement; she was confronted with a full report of the activities of our group in the past few weeks, including our carryings on last Sat. nite. Moreover the police here have the underlined: correct names and addresses of all those in and around the movement here, and also of those who were active five or six months ago. Needless to say there is a stool pigeon in our ranks who is very, very clever. He was among the twelve whom we were with at Glenn's beer joint because the officals [sic] here know all about that. Rudy is so terrorized that she has dropped everything, Baker is scared stiff, Gilpin is just mad, but Dixon -- here we find one who is going to stool on the stool pigeon. Dixon is going to St Louis Fri nite for the District convention, are you going to be there? why not? The Workmens Circle is spreading the glad word that you are going to adress [sic] them on the 18th of this month. Is this true? Maybe they saw the crowd we drew with you and think they can do the same -- but -- they have no DIXON. We are holding these signs here awaiting word from you. Write soon, and remember
