  Joseph Eggleston Johnston surrendered to William Tecumseh Sherman in N.C. 26 April 1865.   26 April 1866 some nice (white) ladies in Columbus, Miss started the 1st CSA Decoration Day in Friendship Cemetery - formerly underlined:  Odd Fellows Cemetery.  I suppose they changed the name so you wouldn't think the place was just for homosexuals.
  Bloody Bowen heard an Aussie Poet [A D Hope] recite his Verse and/or lecture last night.  Mr. Hope wrote one poem on Cigarette Smoking - and Bowen  was going to make him elucidate a bit.  We Read it - but we aren't certain we "dug" it.  Bowen
