[[postcard] THE HUMAN LUNG -- a lung in a normal healthy condition and a lung showing severe pulmonary emphysema. A breakdown of the air sacs associated with bronchial obstruction largely due to tars in tobacco smoke has produced the large balloon-like blebs plainly visible. Emphysema is stated to be the most rapidly increasing pulmonary disease. Note the difference in the color and shape of these two lungs. The black color is due to carbon deposits. Everyone breathes some carbon, but the excess amount due to smoking is clearly visible. For help to stop smoking, call Smoker's Dial, (312) 3235-3535. Attend the "Five Day Plan To Stop Smoking." Hinsdale Sanitarium and Hospital, 120 N. Oak St., Hinsdale, Ill. 60521 (A Seventh-day Adventist Institution dedicated to better living.)
