Printed letterhead: Young & Rubicam, Inc., Advertising, New York Chicago Detroit San Francisco Los Angeles Hollywood Montreal Toronto Mexico City London, New York 17, 285 Madison Avenue February 10, 1958 Dear Jack - A belated but sincere thank-you for the “Garland of Midwest corn blossoms “ - enjoyed the collection very much. I’m working here at Y & R as an art director and haven’t done any jackets or book or book illustrations in years but thought I’d send along the enclosed, beat-up copy of “Man Without a Country “ which I worked on 8 or 9 years ago. The drawings are a bit on the naive side but the author, if no one else, had no adverse criticism to make. If I ever get to Chicago, or you to New York, perhaps we could get together and lift a toast or two, to Ir. Sincerely - Jack Conroy pencil notation: not Jack Conroy
