Dear Jerry & Lucile,

 Elizabeth and I were married about three weeks ago and Elizabeth wrote to Lucile at Paris.

But the other evening we were at a big dinner in San Germaine and Frederick O'Brien was there. He told me you were both in this country and he thought you were at Mt Kisco.

What about you both.  What are you up to. Had really a hell of a year in one way but a pretty good year in another. 

Got a book done I think is pretty good, in spots anyway and did a lot of sahil? reading. There have always been a lot of men I have wanted to know more about, what they really thought and felt and how they said it.

There was my chance - a pretty complete likeness right at hand.
