While we see our duty, & am total barrenness & neglect of it & put for th this first fruit, this naturally urges us to repent. When we see t. seasonableness of loving God & devoting all to him, this strikes our consciences & urges us to it. But in consequence of neglect, we see how right it is we should be condemned: Our consciences concur with Gods law in our condemnation & ruin. This has a natuaral lending to alarm our fears, to fill us with terror; & make us cry out what shall we do?
