Sat - 6/17/72 Dear Slim, Please forgive me for not writing sooner. I was on an extended work week and trying to study for finals at the same time. I know that's really no excuse for not writing, but I just couldn't manage to do anything else. Didn't even pay the rent (until this morning), call my momma, or do any of the necessities in the interim. Fortunately, that's now a thing of the past, and I feel like they took a monkey off my back. Now, I'll have time to tend to the horses, eat regularly, and perhaps even live it up by going in the pool, using my bike (I still uncldear-waive? at them both every morning), and other good things. Sorry to learn that you've been ousted from your flat. About all I can say in sympathy is that it is really no great loss. Im sure your new quarters will be better, and at least the mean and cruel landlord didn't throw out your belongings. Am sending this to you on Melrose, since I have a hunch you'll get it. (The La Salle St. address you gave me has yet to be confirmed.)
