not in Chicago - some 60 miles off - his mother and sister are living - his father is dead some 15 years ago - must close - I am going with Anna to Uncle's by the cars between 9 & 10. - With love to you all - I am your affct father Robert Everett.

in different writing -- his daughter Anna's:

Father has kindly given me his letter to add a few words. He called in to see me for a few minutes this morning, and it is now decided that I shall go with him to Racine, attend the meetings there and then return to visit at Uncle's. I left Jennie at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, feeling pretty well. though I fear she was most tired out, trying to get me started. The school closes in about two weeks & then I hope to see Jennie here. She cannot well learn before. We meet with very kind friends at Chicago; it seems really good to be with our Welsh friends again. I went last night to hear Pa and Mr. Price preach. The first welsh sermon I had heard since leaving home. I had a very pleasant journey down from Galesburg, yesterday. My class mates, nearly all of them accompanied me to the depot also Jennie & Miss Northrup my music teacher

on left side: And I found there some kind people who were coming all the way to Chicago; they let me join their company and I came with them all the way which made it very pleasant for me. I hope you can make out this scribble write to me soon to uncle's care; also to Jennie. I am afraid she will be lonely. Anna
