Dear Mrs. Carpenter, I was very sorry not to have been able to see you before I left Chicago but you were absent from town at the time. I was very eager to let you know of a plan that I succeeded in working out before I left. A group of people had shown special interest in our work & wished to have similar exhibitions brought to the States for educational purposes. They have found a society called the American Friends of the Austrian Werkbund (subscription $5.00) Their aim is to assist us in arranging exhibiting tours throughout America by taking over the duty bond. On the other hand I am working on a plan for scholarships at our Kunstgewerbeschule to be given to poor Americans Students, as well as for the exchange of art teachers. Furthermore I should like to give all Americans that might be interested the possibility of seeing modern art, architecture & interior decorations when visiting Vienna
