Dear Mrs Carpenter: I'm immensely thrilled at the prospect of my show at the Arts Club,--the one thing I most hoped for, some day, all the time I was in Chicago. In selecting a list of my forty best drawings I felt that several which belonged to different people in Chicago should be included. I have just now heard from Miss Roullier to "borrow these if possible." Therefore, since I think the "Car Couple" drawing you have certainly belongs among the forty, if you could be so generous as to loan it for the exhibition I would be exceedingly pleased. And in that case I wonder if I might trouble you to notify Miss Roullier so she can include its title in the catalogue, which goes to the printer on Tuesday. Thanking you in advance, and with the deepest gratitude for the part I know you must have taken in arranging this show for me--and with kindest regards to yourself, I am Very sincerely Bertram Elliott
