Dear Gladys & Jack --

It seems too me that you get some

Chicago paper, but am sending you the Tribune's version of Farrell's life anyway. After visiting several close friends these past several months in nursing home and seeing the mis- erable lingering lives they lead, I am glad Farrell could go quickly like my Mom did. It's the best way, if we are lucky.

We still have most of the dining room

set you gave us in the big move from Green St. I believe you said it had once belonged to James Farrell during one of his marriages. Merry Ann took the table, had it re-finished beautifully & uses it, in her dining room with bentwood chairs. I took the 2 best of the chairs, had them refinished & seats covered in a soft blue- green brocaded silk - they are beautiful chairs. I hope that you have both been real well. I have been real good and am looking forward to planing (American) down to Okla- homa City for the month of October. Spent a delightful month of April there this Spring. Carol had so many outings, plays, travelogues & family getogethers planned.
