I don't know if I mentioned this, but several years ago I was supposed to have an operation on my left knee. The surgeon, Phil Lewin, was a specialist on the knee. Not many surgeons can claim great skill with the knee, I learned. The doc died before the operation was performed. He was married to the woman who provides the dancers, Merriel Abbott, for the Palmer House, etc. A man I worked with had the same operation by another surgeon, and it was a big failure- he had to retire, as the knee got worse afterward.

I remain at this rooming house, not happy, but stuck until I do better. Pensioners can be an awful pain in the derriere, I've learned, and here we have several, and amongst the world's greatest idiots.
