I've written letters to congressmen and U.S. Senators when Miller was denied a passport some years ago, so expected him to be a somewhat better person. Strange how people are about money. Louie Nizer in MY LIFE IN COURT hammered hell out of Chaplin, that another guy who was away about money, and another guy I liked for what his enemies did to him, and whose performances always delighted me, and I remember him as far back as 1914.

 Well, Spring has sprung, though nights are like Calif. nights and require fires yet. Don't know if we'll

ever get this "terrace house?" to look like anything humans inhabit, but even now it's supposed to be the best on the block, which isn't saying much.
