   Do you read the Scrips Howard Press.   The World a fine old paper went all to hell here last month it been going for a long time.  Scripps took it over combined it with the Telegram and now New York has one real gawd damned good newspaper.
   Its getting late - this letter is growing too long and I fear I havent said anything and said it poorly.  Its much easier to talk than write.  Think Ill take a drink and go bed.
  Hope to see you before too many months pass.  Things here are pretty lousy now and those allegedly in the know say the really big smash comes next month.  Heres hoping it leaves us with our chins still out
