1-24-83 Dear Jack -- I was very saddened to learn of Gladys' death. I did not know her well but what little I did know her I know she loved you very much & you must have been desolated at her loss. Also, from what little I knew her, I know she was a feisty, tough, wonderful woman. I send my most heartfelt condolences.

A spring trip to Moberly would indeed be a good thing. I am out of a job a the moment & Jay is out of a girlfriend (she was underlined: supposed to be his uxor in March) but all changes, & we will, if any possible, be there to check out Moberly spring '83.

I sent for a DISINHERITED. Will review it, after reading it again, in a small-press review publication.

Hang tough, Jack, as you've always done. My (third) marriage is going well. We will see, but I have no doubts. With love, Curt
