12-13-77 Dear Jack --

Well, I cashed the check, & I thank you. But I owe you. I only wanted $2, Jack, & that was in kidding.
Haven't heard on underlined: Zury from anybody. (I finally got a copy of the list of grantees & am sending it to you.)

Jay Robert had a play open Friday night. "1947" -- deaths of Al Capone, Bugsy Siegal, Bugs Moran. It's closing Thursday. The critics killed it. Blew a lot of money & he's discouraged, but he'll snap out of it. He always does.

Am enclosing a card I received from Hoke Norris shortly before his death. A few months anyway. I'd mentioned that there was some doubt certain alleged "pecadillos" would be included. Anyway, I thought you'd like to see what Hoke thought. I think so, too but it underlined: is your autobiog. We are all looking forward to it, as you well know.

Just a note to say hello, Jack. Hope all is good by you & Gladys.

Happy holidays.

Best, Curt
