Thursday Jany 23d 79 Finished long letter to Julia about 1 am & at 2.30 took cars. Got a berth & turned in at once - Was waked up near Abeline the breakfast place - Had a good breakfast - At Lawrence I telegraphed to Hdqr for Ambulance & on my arrival of Depot at 11Worth took it & was driven to post - went to Randall's house, then to Mess & had Dinner. All the boys appeared glad to see me - Oppinger took possession of me sent to Randalls house for my baggage - After dinner I went over to call on Jeff Davis.
