me so that although Bishop Ames occupied the pulpit, I did not get out to church yesterday morning. But I heard him last evening. I do not like him so well as Simpson, but he had the little church full you can be assured. So prompt was the Bishop and so tardy the Congregation and Choir, that Capt. M Lane and myself had to do a good share of the singing of the 1st hymn. He preached just an hour and fourty eight minutes by Capt. Johnsons watch. Capt. J is here from Ft. Lyon upon Court Martial; Cass Jones married his sister. I like the Capt. very well. Capt. M Lane is a splendid singer and he says he has about a dozen good ones in his company.
