My Dear Wife: I have just written one and a good share of another letter for the "Advocate." I enclose the one completed, but it needs some punctuation & c. You must alter anything where the language is bad- rewrite a whole paragraph if necessary. It is awful hard work for me to write now-a-days except just when I am in the humor, and then ten to one I am out of the way of pen, ink & paper. Yesterday I was so sleepy. I couldnt write- today it is 90 in the shade. I am not discommoded by the heat except drowsiness. I shall sleep under three blankets to-night. I had a good time at Wisners. He is a little rough- would be called very rough at Racine. His wife is as much of a lady as she can be under the circumstances- she is a real good plain honest creature- and they never quarrel.
