If you look at the Map you will see Long's Peak- the St. Vrain River- perhaps the Boulder. Wisner lives on the next claim to Titus of Racine- the Boulder empties into the St. Vrain on Titus' claim, just 30 miles from the foot of Long's Peak and 30 miles N.N.E of Denver. Longs is 1000 ft higher than Pike's Peak- and a few hundred higher than Mt. Shasta in California, which until very recently has been supposed to be the highest mountain in the United States- But I must make a newspaper letter of these things. I was of course surprised to run on to Titus so unexpectedly, and equally so to find that Lyman Dutton made his headquarters there. I was just a couple of days too late to see Lyman. Wisner calls him self a Copperhead- but he says Titus is real secesh- I didn't hear a good word said of Titus but lots of the other sort, principally about his deal. I will write Perry in a few days more about Lyman.
