Go with Christian: he suffers fears within, and tribulations without, and then it is that the Psalms are to him what the soothing medicine is to the wounded soldier. The Gospel gives light and immortality by Jesus Christ; the Psalms give ease and comfort through His promises. Oh! how rich the blessings of God in these gifts to man; and how blind are they who will not receive what is so freely offered. Oh! that the Lord would heart my prayers and convert these my heart longs to see brought into the fold of Christ. My soul longeth for them even as a woman longeth in the hope of her firstborn.
