Bradley came down by R.R and went into camp near the Post. I am still independent of any commander so there are three separate and distinct commands here. Sept 10th - Genl Augur came up to see "Spotted Tail" and see about his transfer to the Reservation. Some 200 lodges of the Sioux will go. Sept 11th - Ordered by Genl. Augur to report to Bat Major Morris for duty. The General returned to Omaha this evening. Sept 13th - Lieut Warrens? returned from Omaha where he had gone to draw clothing &c &c and brought an order from General Sherman transferring the Regiment to the Dept. of Missouri and ordering six Cos. of the Regt to march lightly to the Hd waters of the Republican with 30 days rations and there scout until the rations are exhausted when they will go to Fort Wallace Ks on the line of the Southern Pacific R.R.
