SUNDAY, APRIL 16, 1865. Co. "C." skirmished with the rebs. yesterday, when making the flank movement marched towards Camden. 102nd skirmishing all the way. In the evening 32nd was sent to flank Co. "C". as skirmishers killed one & captured one. Camped at BradfordSprings P.O. There was a Female Seminary near here but has been burned. MONDAY 17 The 32nd were Rearguard. Col Hallowell being sick Col Baird was in command of the Brigade. All but one co. were taken up to help flank a position. Cavalry attacked the rear guard. Expected a fight at Camden, but walked in about 6 P.M. The cars that we were after have gone down the road. TUESDAY 18 Marched on the direct road towards Manchester. 32nd in advance C K & G as skirmishers. Drove the rebs until we came to Swift Co. where they were entrenched in force. Had some very narrow escapes. 54th Mass. flanked unclear when we crossed & they opened with artillery on us.
