SUNDAY< AUGUST 2, 1863. Of course we had to march today. We on the way almost every day & camped 4 miles further toward Culpepper. Crossed the Rappihannock at R Station and in the evening crossed back again. This was the hotest day yet. MONDAY 3 In camp about a quarter of a mile from the river, a splendid spring a mile from camp TUESDAY 4 The Rappihannock is not as wide as Chartiers Creek, but is from 4 to 10 feet deep and very swift.
