Dear Dr Farnsworth./ I wonder if you remember me and the wonderful day I spent with you & Mies at your house before it was completed? I am prompted to write to you because I saw a note in Progressive Architecture that the authorities were proposing to build a bridge so near your house that you may have to leave it. After eighteen years this sounds awful and you have my complete sympathy should you have to leave this lovely setting.

  My wife died early this year and I may come to the states later in the year to visit friends in California. If it were possible I would like to visit Chicago again and possibly to go and see you. I do so hope
