Dearest Mummie & Grandma:

Went in town Saturday and met Miss Ross at Field's at eleven. She gave into my keeping a 36,000 word manuscript to be typewritten. she says it is a love story

told in the form of letters - a correspondence between two shut-ins - a man and a woman. None of her other stories have been accepted as yet but she has not given up hope and enjoys writing them just the same.

In the afternoon, I went with Laura and Norine to the Majestic. Saw a good show. Mrs. Langtry was the star performer in a playette called "Ashes". She makes a

good appearance and seems to be a good actress, though the part she took did not call for any particular skill. Glad the things reached you alright and hope the shoes have arrived by this time. The paper will come later. Max did not have the time to get it ready last week. It will be sent
