things we are pretty well settled. I expect to go in town tomorrow to get a rug for the front room and some curtains for the library. We expect to get a new set of dished soon and linoleum for the kitchen. Then we will feel quite elegant. Max is enjoying the garden so much and takes great pride in it and in the yard as well. The latter still looks quite neglected but he hopes to get it in shape before long. I made a lovely strawberry shortcake the other day and gave half of it to Margaret & her grandma. Earlier in the day M. brought me a bowl of chicken noodle soup for my lunch. It had a large piece of chicken in it and was fine. Our exchange of "food gifts" in the neighborhood amuses Max very much.

 I've heard lots of news lately about the people I used to know. Marion Morse is married (last summer) and lives somewhere in Michigan. (No one seems to know just where.
