Dearest Mummie:

 You must have been somewhat surprised to receive the ribbon and not the coral silk. I overlooked the request for the silk in grandma's letter, or I most certainly should have sent it last Tuesday with the ribbon. I was downtown yesterday but didn't do any shopping. However, I looked at coral silk at Mandel's and the only thing I could find was taffeta at $1.50 per yard. It was a beautiful piece of goods but I didn't buy it as I thought I had better look around a little more and see if I could get something for a little less - or is that about the price you wanted to pay?  I am going down again Saturday and if I can't find anything else will get that at Mandel's. They had no remnants there   Perhaps I can find some at some
