The pie plant is growing nicely and I think I shall be able to get several messes from it in a day or two. The asparagus has gone to the diel? and will have to be replanted. The peonies look fine. There are going to be lots of blossoms. The lilies of the valley are blooming. They smell so sweet. Wish you could have some. Guess they will have to be thinned out they are growing so quickly.
Oh, I mustn't forget to tell you that last night about six o'clock Virginia Kopp came over with a dozen lovely hot rolls that her mother had baked for our supper. Wasn't that just the loveliest thing you ever heard of? I was quite taken aback and hardly knew how to thank her. Just think how different people are here from those in the city. Such neighborliness is unheard of there.
