 Nellie Zay sent a fine big chicken for Max's birthday dinner and I made him a cake, cocoanut, like the one I made for you, so you see he had plenty to eat. He had

about 50 nuts for his second course. Doc was obliged to lie down after the meal. I gave Max a new shirt and a pair of cuff buttons for his birthday.

 Puss cat has gained a good deal since you left. he now weighs 9 pounds.
