one for Christmas. When the weather is fine like this it seems a shame not to take pictures. The cat is quite a poser. I could practice on him. The tomato vines are still bearing and the nasturtiums are still blooming. I gathered a lovely big bunch today. Papa came out Sunday and seemed to enjoy his visit. He talked mostly about the war. Thinks Germany will be defeated in the end but that the struggle will continue for a year more, anyway.

After dinner we walked down Alston Ave. to Irving Pk. Blvd. where Papa took a car downtown to the chess & checker club and Doc, Max and I went to a dime show.

After the show, we walked home, making excellent time, as it was getting chilly.

I must write to Grandma right away. Haven't heard from Helen yet. Guess she is mad because I didn't write her on her birthday. I was too busy to write to anyone that day.

She owes me a letter, anyway. Wish I could see you, Mummie, and have a good chat.

   Heaps of love, Tairn.
